P2-MAL on approach

Flying over PNG is just beautiful! But people live very isolated and remote. Even though there's a road visible, this road is nowhere connected to any major centres.

The community of Bak is hiding between mountains in the south of Sandaun Province. And all the roofing iron you see on the houses has been flown in. No road access to a hardware store! And roofing iron is only one of the many goods our aircraft load, either coming from Tabubil/Kiunga or Tari, Mt Hagen. People do walk across the mountains to nearby villages and schools, like the Oksapmin Secondary School. But surely, we also do fly passengers.
